I Was Thinking. God Said: Wrong Mind
There is a dimension you have never accessed. You will never find it by thinking harder.
I was sitting quietly thinking about something simple. Nothing profound. Nothing spiritual. Just an ordinary thought in an ordinary moment.
And then I heard it. Clear as day.
Get out of your mind and enter into My mind.
I knew immediately it was the Lord. Not because it was dramatic. But because it was the kind of instruction that could only come from outside of me. My mind would have never produced that sentence on its own. Which is exactly the point.
He was not just giving me a concept. He was giving me a command. And I have not been the same since.
Your mind is not the problem. It is just not big enough for what God has planned for you.
Everything you can fathom on your own is already limited. Every vision you have cast, every goal you have set, every dream you have dared to believe for, if it came entirely from your own thinking, it is already smaller than what God intended. Not because you are not gifted. Not because you lack faith. But because the human mind, no matter how brilliant, no matter how sanctified, no matter how many years it has walked with God, is still a finite instrument trying to comprehend an infinite God.
And you cannot see a limitless God through a limited lens.
I want to invite you into the same command He gave me.
Come out of your mind. And enter into the mind of God.
I know that sounds simple. But stay with me. Because most of us have never actually done it. We have prayed from our minds. We have believed from our minds. We have even worshipped from our minds. But we have never fully left our own understanding long enough to stand inside of what God actually sees.
And what God sees is not what you see.
God does not work with available data. He works with the end from the beginning.
Here is what your mind shows you.
Your history. Your failures. Your limitations. The doors that closed. The relationships that ended. The attempts that did not work. Your mind is a filing cabinet of everything that has already happened, and it uses that file to predict what is possible next. It is not trying to limit you. It is just doing what minds do. Working with the available data.
But God does not work with available data.
He works with the end from the beginning. He works with dimensions that have not been accessed yet. He works with miracles that have no precedent, ideas that have no category, and breakthroughs that have no blueprint. He has a well, a limitless, bottomless well of creativity and strategy and possibility, that has never been tapped. And most of it will never be tapped because the people He created to access it never came out of their own understanding long enough to reach it.
They stayed in their minds. And their minds kept showing them the limit.
God sees you in your totality.
Not the version of you that is struggling right now. Not the version that failed last year or last month or last week. Not the version that does not yet have the skills or the resources or the connections or the confidence. He sees the complete version. The finished version. The version He designed before you were formed in your mother’s womb.
You are still catching up to what He already sees.
And the only way to close that gap is to stop consulting your own understanding and start consulting His.
Proverbs 3:5 does not just say trust in the Lord. It says trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. That second part is the part we skip. We trust God in theory while still leaning entirely on our own thinking. We ask Him to bless what we have already decided. We invite Him into plans we have already made. We bring Him our version and ask Him to sign off on it.
But what would happen if we came to Him with nothing? No plan. No agenda. No version. Just the question: God, what do You see?
That is the prayer that changes everything .
Not God bless this. Not God help me with that. But God, what do You see when You look at my life right now? What is in Your mind concerning me? What dimensions have You prepared for me that I have not yet had the imagination to ask for?
Because here is what I have learned. The things God has for you are beyond what you have dared to ask. Beyond what you have dared to imagine. Beyond the ceiling your mind has accepted as the limit. There are ideas in the mind of God for your life, your business, your ministry, your family, that you have never considered. Not because they are not for you. But because you have never left your own thinking long enough to find them.
The miraculous does not live in your mind. It lives in His.
So how do you actually do this? How do you come out of your mind and enter into the mind of God?
You start by stopping.
Stop the planning. Stop the strategizing. Stop the endless mental loop of how and when and what if. And you sit. Quietly. In His presence. Not with an agenda. Not with a list. Just with availability.
And then you ask.
God, what do You see that I cannot see? What have You stored for me that I have not yet accessed? What idea, what dimension, what miracle, what assignment have You been waiting for me to ask for?
And then you wait. Because the mind of God does not always respond on your timeline. But it always responds.
You will know when you have entered into it. Because what comes will not feel like something you thought up. It will feel like something that was given. It will feel bigger than you. More specific than a dream. More certain than a plan. It will feel like a knowing.
And that knowing will be the beginning of something the earth has not yet seen.
You were not created to live in the boundaries of your own thinking.
You were created to come out of your mind and enter into His. To access dimensions that have not been tapped. To build things that have not been built. To carry ideas that have not been considered. To bring to the earth what only exists right now in the limitless, bottomless, inexhaustible mind of God.
Your limitation was never His.
Stop thinking from your history. Start thinking from His eternity.
Come out of your mind.
There is so much more waiting for you on the other side of your own understanding.
